RC flying is a fun and exciting hobby.  If you have ever wanted to try, you have come to the right place!

Learn to Fly!

The Chula Vista Model and Radio Control Club welcomes beginners, and we are here to help you succeed in this great hobby. If you’re a novice pilot or even a first-timer, we would love to have you fly with us! Our club has several qualified instructors who are more than happy to meet you at the field and get you off to a good start in model aviation.

Club instructors will:

  • Give your aircraft a safety inspection to make sure everything is good-to-go
  • Give you step-by-step flying lessons with your own equipment, most often with radio interface so the instructor can take control of the student’s aircraft at the push of a button (to save you from crashing!)
  • Help you to safely take off, fly and land your aircraft so that you can fly your model as a full-fledged Model Aircraft Pilot.
  • For Junior Members, you can train on club aircraft until you get your own!

Sunrise to Sunset, but Ream Tower MUST be notified by phone PRIOR TO FLYING on any weekday. (See LOA)
